On my manifestation weekend, I wrote down three long-term goals and, for each of those goals, three action points.
Doable action points.
I think a large part of my ineffectiveness in life, so far, has been that I have big dreams, but I don’t do anything about it.
Dreams are overwhelming, right?
But, even doable action points aren’t enough.
I realised what I needed was daily goals—daily action points.
Because doable action points mean bugger all if you don’t actually do them.
So, daily doable action points.
I decided I’d write down exactly what I want to accomplish each day.
I’ve got a daily planner, which I tend to forget about and then fill in a week later (how useless is that?!).
Yesterday, I pulled out the planner from the bottom of my bag and thought, just for fun, I’ll count up how many days are blank.
The number I got was this—
Yesterday was the 229th day of the year.
I had 118/229 days empty. Blank.
Of course, I had a bunch of excuses—oh, most of those days are just work. Oh, I’ve been waiting for uni to accept my thesis proposal. Oh, I forget to write everything down.
And then I told myself to stop and take this for the reality check that it is.
118 empty days is wasted time—that’s it.
I don’t know about you, but this shows me how easy it is to fall into the trap of work—home—work—home—work—home. Life just flies by.
Coincidentally (though, if you read the last post, you’ll know I treat coincidences very seriously!), this wake up call came on the same day as—
MY THESIS PROPOSAL FINALLY GOT OFFICIALLY ACCEPTED!
And, we are more than ready to take action—on this and so many other things.
The world needs action right now.
Daily doable action.
